Newport Boat Parade

For Casey Coogan's Birthday, he invited us down to his parent's house in Newport for the annual Christmas boat parade. We toured the bay in his parent's leisure boat, while enjoying dinner and music (Riley's playlist). It rained the whole way down, but broke just long enough for the parade. It was a good time as always with the crew.

Cabin fever

The only day of no rain was the last day everyone was here. We finally got to play outside on the new trampoline and soak in the jacuzzi

The boys though it was some nice summer day, a warm 50 degrees

Looks like Shane is resting in mid-air
Lyla and Shane cozying it up

Duane looks so innocent, the boys got launched by someone (Hailey?)!

Aquarium visit

We had the craziest rain storm as soon as the Jennings arrived for the week. There wasn't a whole lot to do but we did go to the Aquarium and still couldn't stay dry
I don't think we could fool Lyla, she was on it

the cousins hanging on out with the seals

Santa came to Westfield and Shane thought he was part of the Kato family

And Hailey thought she was part of the Graves family

Preschool is rough when you are 3

Hailey got stung on the cheek at school while riding a bike. Her eye was swollen shut for an entire day and she was embarass when people saw her but she was a brave little girl. She said, "I didn't cry mommy! The penis stung me!"

Just like her brother who slipped and fell on the playground at his school.

Calico Ghost Town

Our Indian Guides tribe took an unofficial trip to Calico Ghost Town just outside of Barstow. Its an old sliver mining town, that is now a tourist attracton marked by the Japanese tour buses...I'm not quite sure why you would fly across the Pacific to visit this place, but it was well worth the 3 hour drive.
We stayed in the "Bunk House." It was just that 1 room with 10 bunkbeds, 1 step up from a tent.

The young braves
Old Chinese district of the town. The boys used it to play "Halo"
Overlooking the town

After the ghost town tour, we took an off-road adventure to an area where we were able to shoot off rockets, bows, and guns.

Santa's arrival

Pretty over the top

Hailey feeling a little nervous near Santa (she said she likes the bunny better)

Another great meal

Crashing in on the Danon's

Our hosts who invited us to stay the night with them at La Costa Resort, we couldn't pass that up!

A little river kept them busy at the gardens

The lovefest

At the top of the waterslide tower, Shane was the only one who was tall enough for the big slide

The sunshine felt so nice

Thanks for all the great laughs Jaime and Saar
