Computer class

Hailey has shown interest in the computer (games) of course, and Shane has taken on the role of being the patient teacher

Looks like she has the hang of it- Thank you Shane!

Dino Sleepover

Indian Guides Dino Sleepover 2011. Almost exactly like the movie a night at the museum, but the living museum pieces were replaced with snoring dads.
Shane making a dino tooth fossil casting

The boys abusing a couple pieces of California history. We could do things like that because we were the only ones in the exhibit. We had the whole museum to ourselves. It was kind of freaky walking around a dimly lit museum with no one around.

Lights out 11:00PM.

Swing Hailey

Hailey just discovered this swing

Weekend Away

Jesse suprised me for Valentine's Day with a night away from the kiddos. We stayed in Pasadena at the Langham Hotel and felt like royalty. It couldn't have been a more perfect weekend of shopping, eating, relaxing, jacuzzi, wine bar, movie, tour the museum and high noon tea at the Hunington Library. We wanted to go dancing and almost crashed the wedding at the hotel but Jesse thought he might stick out like a sore thumb. It was an all Asian wedding without a single white person, it was tempting though. The weekend away was so refreshing and made us feel like we were a million miles away from home. Great idea Bud!

"Surenot"

Another one of my favorite Haileyisms

"Surenot"

Definition: response given when she has not really thought about her response to a question and starts to say "sure", but decides half way through that she wants to respond in the negative, "not". Often accompanied by a sassy look and tone of voice.

Trailblazers

Jesse's coached Shane's Basketball team the Trailblazers this season. Of the eight kids on the team 6 were in Shane's class and all are apart of the Indian Guides Tribe

Thanks too all the parents help, Jesse always had at least 3 parents helping out at each practice. I think the dads looked forward to getting together

First game the team scored 4 points total! Last game, 46 points, still the bad news bears though

We were the team that had the most fun and no one missed a game the whole season

The end of the season party just goes to show how much fun we had. We partied till 11pm with all the kids, Thanks to the Alvins for hosting- pool and karaoke-We love our group, yoiung at heart

Jesse's Thank you letter

Dear Trailblazer-

I bet you thought you wouldn't be subject to any more of these email messages. I wanted to thank everyone for the card/gift card. After much, soul searching, internet searching, and BestBuy searching I settled on the Perfect item. But first, the runner-ups as seen at BestBuy: blue-ray player, heart rate monitor watch, Call of Duty Black Ops, coffee maker, and electric martini maker (a close second).

And the winner.....Party Package including: Strobe light, Multi-Color Laser Beam, and Color Disco Ball. Now Gene and Chris can watch us makes fools of ourselves while they serenade us to their rendition of "Firework". See you at the next party!

Camp Whittle2011

We took our Indian Guides winter trip to Camp Whittle. The trip was exactly the same as last year with one exception...the accommodations. Last year we were in a cinder block "stalag" lavishly appointed with 6 bunk beds, a heater, a fluorescent light, easy to clean cement floors, and just a short 50m walk to shared bathrooms. This year we stayed in Wagner Lodge, the main camp cabin, featuring a foyer larger than our cabin last year. It had 16 four-person rooms, each with its own bathroom. The Great Room featured 6 couches, vaulted ceilings, massive fireplace, etc., etc., etc. It was great!
