Hailey has such joy in her when she's around animals. I love to watch her interact with them.

24 hours of Malibu

We were fortunate to get a weekend at the Bu house. We planned it months ago and couldn’t have been more lucky, the weather was PERFECT!

The entryway to our modern mansion, you can see the ocean right through the house.

We took a hike in the Santa Monica Mountains and came across some “ruins” in the middle of nowhere. The kids loved exploring the place which burned down 30 years ago.

Shane was such a trooper that day. A big basketball game in the morning, he played awesome. A mile long walk along the beach when we got to Malibu, and then a 2 mile hike later that day.

For my birthday...

Hailey has been a bit indecisive about what she wants to do for her birthday. Here is a short list of the ones we can recall her saying over the past 3 months.

"For my birthday I want to...

...have a sleep over."

...go to Palm Springs and have all of my friends come."

...have the game truck come to my house.

...take all of my friends from school to Disneyland."

...go to Paso Robles and stay in a house with all of my friends."

...go to Chuck E. Cheese's with my friends from school."

...go to laser tag without any of Shane's friends."

Disneyland

Hailey got 1 ticket to go to Disneyland for Christmas so just her and i went last Thursday.  We got there when the gates opened and walked on to most every ride.  She kept saying throughout the day, “This is the best day ever.”  We went to both parks and rode every major ride and most of the smaller rides, some 2 or 3 times.  Her favorite of the day was Splash Mountain, where we never got out of the log, just kept riding it over and over again.   Left Disneyland at 7pm and Hailey was fast asleep in the car 15 minutes later.  It was one of those magical days at Disneyland.

For Casey’s Bday we took his parent’s boat out during the Newport Boat Parade.  We had a lot of laughs that night, so fun!

Another gorgeous day lead us to visit the tidepools.  Shane said this was one of the best adventures he’s had in a long time.  Was fun!

As we were driving home we saw a whale breech out of the water really close to the cliffs.  Duane, Me and the boys jumped out to see if it would breach again.  Lots of whale sightings that day from the cliffs.  The boys were not too impressed with all the whales spottings
