Mt Baldy

We ditched school and headed up to the mountains since it has been so warm and Hailey has been bugging me to go to the snow.  I figured i better make ski/snow/tubing a good experience with perfect conditions.

Before we even started tubing we stripped down to just a long sleeve shirts.  The tubing was fun but didn’t compare to the one in Mammoth and we only went down a handful of times.  Hailey got the bug to ski so we rented some skis and took a lesson

They took an hour lesson that only last 40 minutes, they both pooped out.  I think the altitude got to them.

On our way home, the kids were tired and hungry and Shane said, “I would have had more fun at home playing basketball!”  I just about died, after all that work!   Oh well, I tried.

Winter Soccer-Hailey

Hailey just loved winter soccer. The coach was awesome, there were some really great players on the team, and they won all but 1 of their games. Hailey played with players 1-2 years older then her and she learned a lot. She ended up scoring 4 goals during the season and started to play like she understood the game.

She was always running hard and really improved.  She was the queen of throw–ins, like her big brother!

Westlake Village Inn

We got away for 2 days, no kids and enjoyed every minute of it.  We took a hike to waterfall, hung out at the resort, ate some good meals and came home relaxed.

Sweaty Dawgs

The Dawgs took 2nd place over all and were so much fun to watch.  Shane just loves basketball and has a ball in his hand throughout most of the day.

Shane stepped up and played with an older team as they lost some players.  He played so well, scored some baskets and fit right in with the big boys.  They lost their game in a single elimination round so he only got to play 1 game.  Here are the official score keepers

Harlem Globetrotters

A group of us went to see the Harlem Globetrotters.  I have been wanting to see them since i was a kid, Jesse too.   Shane just ate up all the basketball moves/tricks while Hailey loved all the goofy stuff they did to entertain in-between plays.  Very entertaining

School stuff

A friend of mine was walking through the MPR and took this photo of Hailey doing Zumba with her class at school.

A soon to be MLB player, Vance Albitz  came to talk to Shane’s class about gloves for troops.  He asked a bunch of trivia question and this is how it went…….. “You will have to be a baseball junkie to get this question.  What team did Jackie Robinson play for?”  4 other kids raised their hands and were wrong.  Shane who only knows 2 MLB teams, raised his hand and said the Dodgers and won this signed bat!
