Pocket Knife

Jesse always has a pocket knife on him, mainly for all the Amazon boxes we get daily.  We were about to go through security at the LAFC game and he realized it was in his pocket.  He decided to hide it in the rocks in this photo where he is pointing along the wall of the stadium.  The picture taking was the distraction.  It was there after the game.  Win Win

Hiking

We all started on the Okokehao Trail
It started flat and calm
then it started to get muddy and steep
This group left and found an easier hike
I stayed with Hub and we tried to follow Jesse, Shane and Luke.
The boys were way ahead of us
 Shane fell into the bushes
 Hanalei outlook

Jesse looked on the map and it showed there was only a 1/2 mile to the top of twin peaks.  Shane and Luke convinced him to go to the top.  What they didn't realize was that it was straight up and would take 45 minutes

Meanwhile the other group was hiking flat lands
so tired and hot

The width of the trail along the ridge, just a few feet wide
Extreme hiking
They made it to the top of Twin Peaks, not the hike we had planned for.  The boys had no water at this point and 2 1/2 hours back down.  Hub and I hid some water along the path for them as we knew they were low.  The boys devoured it and still needed more

Jesse said the boys never complained once
8 miles of extreme hiking, mud, ropes, ridges, and cliffs

The boys were beyond exhausted.   I was exhausted and Hub and I turned around with 800 meters to go
