4th of July Golf tourney

We entered the family golf scramble, again.  Hub doesn't play because his handicap is too good and ruins our score and I hurt my shoulder and couldn't play.  So it was Papu, Jesse and the 3 kids.  Jesse's back was a little iffy so we weren't sure he was going to be able to hit much.  There is a cash prize so the kids really wanted to win.  You have to used everyone's ball at least once from the tee.
2 carts and 7 people, this is how it looks
1st hole of the day and Papu sinks a long putt.  We celebrated like champions which turned into a routine.  I took on the photography role and Hub as the Caddy
 Harry Potter inspired golf
Just another birdie.  We were so loud when we hit a good shot and were told that we looked like the group having the most fun!
Hailey has a very natural swing and saved us on a few holes.
Hailey jumped ship really fast
Shane was so nervous driving
Shane has a very natural swing but only if his feet aren't touching the ground
 BBQ lunch

Shane came up and told me that he and Luke crushed the competition in the water balloon toss.  Then I looked at the competition and no one was older than 10!  So Hai tried to win
Look who found the face painter
Announced at the BBQ - Mehlbergs Win 1st place! winners of $150
All the golf members thought that it was because we have Hub, little did they know he didn't play.  In our group no one played great, we just always had 1 good hit per shot.  A real group effort

Universal Studios

Luke came out to visit for 10 days.  Day 1, kids with their wands getting ready for Universal Studios tomorrow.  We told Hailey 6 months ago she couldn't go unless she started reading Harry Potter.
Hailey put her outfit out the night before, she could hardly sleep.  She is obsessed with Harry Potter now and wants to watch all the movies
Jesse made the kids jump out of the car on the way to the freeway to get a pokemon at 6:30am!

Jesse took the kids, I didn't feel worthy since I'm not into Harry Potter.  They had no idea what to expect, here they are seconds after valeting the car
At the park before it opened.
The only way to go in the summertime is VIP
 morning refreshments for VIPs only
Luke showing the crowds his VIP status
War of the Worlds set they got to walk through

 Back to the Future set
Entering Harry Potter

2nd longest line of the day, VIP lunch
 Jesse's 1st plate

The wand shop where they "fixed" our wands
Hailey found her Halloween costume, it's all she talks about
Jurassic Park ride.  With VIP passes they never had to wait in line, ever!  Totally worth it

The wands would do magic things around the park
The Owlery
Hogwarts Express
Hailey just loved shopping and wandering around Hogsmead, so much to see
Found the boys!  They went on their own for a few hours
The boys wanted to go on this kiddie ride and cut in front of all the moms with their strollers and toddlers.  Jesse refused to go
the cups read- Hailey, Grandma's Angle and  Shannon

The kids really wanted this giant donut for dessert, longest line of the day was to purchase it.  Only time their VIP status didn't work

Getting ready for the Harry Potter light show that just opened a few days ago
Stayed until the parked closed
They didn't leave the park until 10:15pm!  A total of 14 1/2 hours in the park.
Jesse said that the Harry Potter world was amazing and that the VIP status made the day so enjoyable

Horse Camp

Hailey has been helping out with Horse Camp from 9am-3pm, 4 days a week.  She doesn't get paid, but does get a discount on lessons.  She's learning so much and just loves to be down at the barn.  Funny thing is, she doesn't know anyone and is meeting new people each week.  Hailey always comes home after the long day happy and excited to tell me all the stories of what went on.  Such as,  a coyote showed up and the cats, chickens and dogs all freaked out.  They had 3 day old guinea pigs visit the barn, rescued 3 bunnies while riding on the trails, had dog races with Ms Tiffany's dogs, learned how to give horses shots, rode on the tractor, learned to lasso and Hailey said she is the best at it! and the list goes on.
Here she is at camp teaching the campers how to saddle up
taking the campers on the trails
I brought one of Hailey's friends Madi to watch Hailey ride during her lesson.
Hailey takes a lesson just 1 day a week, 2 if she's lucky.  She would do it everyday if she could.  She just started to learn how to jump
 Hailey in her element

It's pretty neat to see her with the ropes and reins and throwing them over her shoulder putting the saddles away.  She does it all
 Hailey's summer Camp
42 hours of volunteer so far!
