Lazy Sunday

I love lazy Sundays when we don't have anything planned. Today was one of them, and couldn't have been better if it were.

We went to Shane's school playground with one of his best friends Riley and his family. Both Shane and Riley learned how to ride a bike without training wheels. This is a kid who would have rather gone to the dentist than ride a bike.

Then we headed to the PV mall for lunch at Rubio's. When we arrived, a Beatles tribute band was setting up their stage for a performance. They rolled up in a vintage red double-decker bus. Beatles, fish tacos, and beer...it was a good time.

On the way home Shane begged to go back to school and ride his bike. Did I mention that before today he would rather eat lima beans than ride his bike?

Back at home the kids and I decided to have a night without electricity. We lit candles, cooked with gas (yup, no microwave), enjoyed and candlelight dinner, closely followed by playing with blocks, homework and a dip in the jacuzzi.

It was a good day!
