Shane’s 10 year birthday gift, a trip to NYC. We did just about everything you can do in 4 days
Finding a place to stay wasn’t easy but once everything worked out, The French Quarters was perfect. First night we took a walk in Time Square. Never would have known it was 11pm.
First dinner in NYC, Lattanzi
Who knew Meb was going to win the Boston Marathon when we took this picture!. Waiting for our ride to go to World Trade Center Memorial
It was awesome just to walk around the memorial and to see it first hand. Crazy to think how something that massive was destroyed!
The only tree to have survived 911 and the One World Trade Center.
George took oath here, and Shane in front of Wall Street
As close to Lady Liberty as we got.
Papu guiding us………..I don’t think that’s where we are Papu
Shane got a kick out of our fast passes to go up the Empire State Building. You would have thought we were part of the Royal family.
We lucked out and had a clear day
I laughed as Jesse took a work call from the 102nd floor of the Empire State Building, not a bad office!
The rent a bikes were a pretty cool concept
Natural History Museum had an exhibit on Poison. One of the things Shane wanted to do was go to museums
We met up with my cousin Soraya, Sean and Caleb for lunch. NYC + baby = i couldn’t do it! Hands down the best pizza i have ever had
Heading to the Planetarium
Shane loved taking the Subway, we tried to use it as much as possible
Shane and Jesse saw 3 basketball games at Madison Square Gardens, me, just one. Shane said he’d rather go to the game than eat a nice dinner, that says a lot coming from him!
Our nicest day was spent in Central Park. NYC had 260 eggs hidden within the city and we found 33 of them. Shane was so into it
Gotta stop at the Toy store
Shane wanted to go see the NYC Library, he was reading a book at school that takes place there. Shane beat Papu at Double Solitaire, his strategy, go slow. It drove her crazy
Rockefeller Plaza, we found a bunch of eggs here
Shane’s favorite Cowboy Egg
In front of Radio City Hall on our way to dinner. Shane got his favorite thing, a New York Steak with New York Cheesecake!
The sign says it all. Shane had so much fun and i could tell enjoyed having some “alone” time.
A trip he will never forget
