Collarbone

2 minutes into a soccer game Shane got tripped running full speed.  He immediately went to the ER and had two bad breaks in his collarbone.  Poor guy, this is going to be a LONG recovery, Doc said 3 months.  After he said that Shane looked at me and said, "How am I not going to play sports for 3 months?"  My heart sank.  Surgery is an option, will know more next week.
The part I don't understand is, he hasn't complained once and it's been 8 days. He literally can't do anything but sit and lay.  He sleeps and spends his days on the couch.  Such a good patient.
It helps to have such good friends.  People are slowing hearing about Shane and coming by with presents.  Best one yet, $50 Itunes gift card.  All his friends want to visit because it means video games!
I'm hoping Shane won't have to go back to school, things are winding down for the year

Lazy W

Hailey's 4th grade class went on an overnight trip to Lazy W.  She didn't want me to chaperone on the trip and I was happy to stay home.
Mission San Juan Capistrano
Hailey brought a camera and took a million pictures of the mission, she really enjoyed seeing it

Hailey bunked with her favorite 4 girl friends
Cabin 8
Purchasing gold mining tools
 Making adobe bricks
mashing up corn
Home sweet Home!  She had fun but wanted a good meal and nights sleep.  Makes you appreciate home

Newspaper

Our friend asked us if we were going to put an article in the paper about our kids going to Western Region States.  Of course Jesse and I aren't into that and said no.  So he went ahead and wrote this article and submitted it without our knowledge, knowing we would hate the ending.  It was a cute article until the last sentence, Jesse and I were so embarrassed.  Our friend wanted people to think we wrote it ourselves.  A few days after it was published, I got texts from friends who read it.  My response to everyone is- Our douche bag friend wrote it

Hailey's 10th Birthday

Double digit Hailey wanted to make, light and carry her own cake to the table!

Officially 10 and heading to Knott's Berry Farm
Her friend Katie asked if she could go to Knott's Berry Farm on April 17th and miss school.  She had no idea it was Hailey's real Birthday!  Of course she can
Hailey came home at 9pm on Fire!  It was the perfect day

Kona sights

Kiholo Bay-  We saw crystal blue water and a boat off shore so we decided it must have good snorkeling
The black rocks feel so good to sit on after getting out of the water
Hailey art

 He tried to bury himself
Fun little spot to snorkel
Getting ready to swim with the manta rays.  You have to go at night so we were waiting for the sun to go down.
Shane getting his comfy on, on lava rocks
Almost dark enough for the boat ride
There are only 2 places in the world to do this.  The boats bring you out to this spot and shine lights  down to attract plankton which bring the manta rays to eat
How we viewed the manta rays, holding onto a surfboard with lights shining down
The manta rays would get so close they would brush up against your body.  I was a little shocked at how big they were, especially up close, it was awesome
We went to one really nice dinner, at Roy's.  I love Hawaii, here we are in a fancy restaurant and we are not the most casual ones dress!

 Celebrating 40!
Looks like Shane's birthday, not mine
Kua Bay Beach was a nice little surprise.  Water was crystal clear, warm, with waves, sand and snorkeling
Thanks to Zinka, they practically sponsored our trip with hats and sunscreen

view from inside the car, trying to get Shane's attention.  Didn't work
The island was full of cats but this was a lot.  Kids loved playing with them
Historic horse trail though lava rocks, 35 miles of it
Petroglyphs all over the trails
Best shaved ice, made with all fresh fruits

Driving back to Hilo to catch our flight home

Hilo Bay
Jesse favorite tree in his favorite park
You will be missed Hawaii, you were good to us!
